Hi,
filed for it: http://sources.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=11657
break C::C will create a pending breakpoint.
Later it gets resolved into both C::C() and C::C(int) which crashes GDB:
breakpoint.c:9641: internal-error: breakpoint_re_set_one: Assertion `sals.nelts == 1' failed.
It is the same problem as existing:
FAIL: gdb.objc/objcdecode.exp: continue after break on multiply defined symbol (GDB internal error)
but this testcase is not dependent on objc (only on C++).
static int
breakpoint_re_set_one (void *bint)
if (!not_found)
{
--> gdb_assert (sals.nelts == 1);
I ask now only for a testcase check-in.
Proposing for a later fix just to completely disable the unqualified names
resolution for C++. C::C<tab> would autocomplete it to C::C() if there are no
other choices.
Thanks,
Jan

Is this bit actually needed in this test?

Doesn't runto_main work in this case?

So will the test hit an internal error, causing a new FAIL?
How about setting up a kfail with the PR number?

Yes.
lib/gdb.exp:
# Build a shared library from SOURCES. You must use get_compiler_info
# first.
proc gdb_compile_shlib {sources dest options} {

No. Added:
# runto or runto_main would call delete_breakpoints.
> So will the test hit an internal error, causing a new FAIL?
> How about setting up a kfail with the PR number?
Forgot, KFAILed now:
Running ./gdb.cp/re-set-overloaded.exp ...
PASS: gdb.cp/re-set-overloaded.exp: set breakpoint pending yes
PASS: gdb.cp/re-set-overloaded.exp: break C::C
PASS: gdb.cp/re-set-overloaded.exp: set variable $brk = $bpnum
KFAIL: gdb.cp/re-set-overloaded.exp: start (GDB internal error) (PRMS: breakpoints/11657)
KFAIL: gdb.cp/re-set-overloaded.exp: breakpoint resolved (PRMS: breakpoints/11657)
OK to check-in?

Would it be OK to use ".*" as the expected output? This makes it
explicit that you expect some output, but just don't care what it is.
This is relative to a question that MichaelS asked, because he's working
on replacing uses of gdb_test where no output is expected.
