Hi Jon,

(CCing the ftpmaster team in case they can help us solve the situation)

I am an upstream maintainer of the LTTng project (http://lttng.org).

It appears that lttng-tools is currently out of sync with lttng-ust and
lttng-modules in Debian and sid (unstable), and missing in Debian stretch
(testing). It appears that this situation has been ongoing for a while.

The following search: https://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=names&keywords=lttng
shows the situation:

- sid (unstable):

lttng-ust* : 2.7.2-1
lttng-modules* : 2.7.2-1
lttng-tools: 2.6.0-1ppc64el1
liblttng-ctl0: 2.6.0-1ppc64el1
liblttng-ctl-dev: 2.6.0-1ppc64el1

- stretch (testing):

lttng-ust* : 2.7.2-1
lttng-modules* : 2.7.2-1
lttng-tools: <none>
liblttng-ctl0: <none>
liblttng-ctl-dev: <none>

In the currently situation, users need to build lttng-tools from source
to use lttng-ust and lttng-modules on Debian testing/sid, which defeats
the purpose of distribution packages.

What can we do, as upstream, to help solve this packaging issue ?

Thanks,

Mathieu

I should have this resolved within a few days. There was a prolonged
delay in the NEW queue for lttng-tools which caused the other dependent
package to block. A rejection was eventually issued, but for some
reason I did not receive the notification - which could be my fault, I'm
not sure. Either way, I'm about upload new packages which should
resolve the ftp-master concerns and things should unblock shortly. I
must thank Michael Jeanson, he's been very helpful in preparing these
updates we should have this all fixed up very soon.
