My old argument is... How many copies of libiberty do you want to
maintain?  How many copies of bfd?  of the toplevel build machinery?  Of
include or libdecnumber or whatnot?

Also, ChangeLogs survive a release tarball, commit history doesn't.

(personally, though, I just don't like using git)
