Time for GDB 6.6 branch ...

Hello,

I am planning on creating the gdb-6.6 branch sometime soon. Target
release date would be mid december.

Is there anything that's in progress for which the branch creation
should be delayed?

I'd really like to see the Xtensa port make it into this release.  It depends on 
someone finding time to review it, though, and there's no reason to hold up 
creating the branch for it -- assuming that if the port is approved before the 
6.6 release, we could add it to the branch.

FYI, I would too - and I hope hope hope that I will have time to sit
down and review GDB patches this afternoon, at which point I will get
to it.

Of course, this is where I repeat my call for help: other GDB
maintainers can review patches too!

Note that I would accept patches in the branch for new ports, as
long as we can be reasonably sure that the additions cannot affect
the rest of the code. I think that Andrew, the previous release
manager, also used that policy.

Use the page at sourceware.org for now. The site at gnu.org is
a bit behind, and I haven't been able to get write access despite
my efforts.
