Just for a data point, I just finished a test spin and I didn't see
this happening.  I have native i686-pc-linux-gnu, red hat linux 8,
vendor glibc without debugging symbols.

This is not ringing any bells in my cache.

I'm doing a spin tonight and I'll have my next report in about 15 hours,
plus the time it takes me to write the report (which might be a bit
longer).  Let's see if I see something similar with my red hat linux
8.0.

Meanwhile, do you still have the gdb.log from the bad test run?
Can you mail that to me?

I just did a CVS update, and I got a whole bunch of regressions.  I'll
include the diff of the gdb.sums after my signatures; these have all
appeared since Wednesday some time.
