See the node "Completion" (and "i quotes RET" in Info would land you
there for free ;-).  However, I see that I misremembered: that part of
the manual deals with problems in completion, not with C++ symbols in
general.

Me too.  Do you feel that this specific issue is not important enough
to be in PROBLEMS?
