Ada is in many ways to Pascal, and I consider them to be close to C.
My first time in Ada, I wrote a simple C program and then ran the GNAT
compiler and followed its instructions until I got a valid Ada program
;-).
For a language that's really different to C, how about Fortran?
There's scheme as well, but I don't know how well we support it.
