insight-5.1.1/gdb/mi contains the "mi" modules and
insight-5.1.1/gdb/gdbtk/gdb contains .o files for the "mi" modules

It looks like they were successfully compiled during the make process, but the make still fails.

Hi Robert,

This rings a bell. This symptom indicates that you are using a Solaris
version of make and it doesn't support VPATH properly.

See the thread starting at:

  http://sources.redhat.com/ml/gdb-bugs/2002-05/msg00013.html

Try using Gnu Make (gmake).

SunOS make probably works if you configure and build in the source
directory, although that is not recommended and may have other problems.

Also, gdb 5.2 is released, you might want to be building that.

Michael C

P. S. UBSW is a large company, but if you know a guy named Jeff Bunds,
       tell him I said hi.
