Here is the preliminary work on merge of the
multiprocess-20081120-branch to current trunk. Comments are appreciated.

I think this branch is dead and Pedro has a newer patch series for this
that has been sent to the list a couple of times.

It might be worth your time to try out those patches to see how they do.

Thanks for the info, Tom. 

Newer patchset is indeed better and I've updated the wiki page at least.
Though there still problems with new function inlining stuff.
