Hi all,
When building GDB, the folloing error message is issued:
makeinfo --split-size=5000000 --split-size=5000000 -I
/home/ligang/GJ283/trunk/code/src/gdb/gdb-6.6/gdb/doc/../../readline/doc
-I /home/ligang/GJ283/trunk/code/src/gdb/gdb-6.6/gdb/doc/../mi -I
/home/ligang/GJ283/trunk/code/src/gdb/gdb-6.6/gdb/doc \
-o gdb.info
/home/ligang/GJ283/trunk/code/src/gdb/gdb-6.6/gdb/doc/gdb.texinfo
gdb.info: Bad address
makeinfo: Removing output file `gdb.info' due to errors; use --force to
preserve.
What is the problem?
Thank you.
Ligang

That looks like a problem on your side that has nothing to do with gdb
("Bad address" is EFAULT). Perhaps a bit flip due to bad memory.
Andreas.

From my experience, different version of "makeinfo" may cause similar problems.
You can try to use the "makeinfo" version specified in the header of existing
"*.info" files(in original downloaded gdb tar ball).
