Hi,
While reviewing a change to GDB it has caught my attention that the start
of new year procedure[1] was not run this year. Was there a particular
reason discussed that I missed or has it just got forgotten by chance?

Not sure but I've been meaning to do this, I'll send something to
gdb-patches.
