Hello,
I am using GDB 5.2 and GDB server over MI for debugging from
within Eclipse.
GDB server is debugging our simulator as a process. When
disassembly is invoked like this
GDB exits/crashes with the following message
(gdb)
252-data-disassemble -s 0x12586566 -e 0x125865ca -- 0
&"../../gdb-5.2/gdb/ui-out.c:133: gdb-internal-error:
push_level: Assertion `uiout->level >= 0 && uiout->level <
MAX_UI_OUT_LEVELS' failed.\n"
../../gdb-5.2/gdb/ui-out.c:133: gdb-internal-error: push_level:
Assertion `uiout->level >= 0 && uiout->level <
MAX_UI_OUT_LEVELS' failed.
253-gdb-exit
Why does gdb exit ? Whats this assert checking ?
Isnt it possible for GDB to just emit an error message in case
of a problem and do not exit ?
Please help.
Thanx for your attention
Veenu

This version is at least five years old. Try the latest release, 6.6.

Google for "assert".
