Doh! I forgot to mention: try it with gdb 6.0 first.
We're much more interested in gdb 6.0 than gdb 5.3.

The problem still occurs in 6.0.
I am not able to provide these exact binaries, but I will attempt to build a generic version of them that has the same issue with gdb.
Is it possible that I did not specific a proper configureation option when building gdb?? I only specified powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.3.0
My compile environment is gcc 3.3, running on AIX 4.3.3
/usr/gnu/bin/gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 3.3

Hi David,
This looks like a serious bug in gdb.
Can you file a PR here:
http://sources.redhat.com/gdb/bugs
We need to know the compiler vendor and compiler version. It would help
a lot if you could attach your binary program to the PR as well.
Thanks,
Michael C

I am attempting to run gdb 5.3 on an AIX 4.3.3 environment, and I am
receiving the errors below.
The binary was complied with -g option and is threaded. I am able to
successfully run gdb against a non-threaded binary.
Any suggestions for resolving this problem?
Thanks
