I was curious about this bug report, as it seems to make debugging on
ix86 ( a fairly popular platform) pretty difficult with shared libs. Is
this something that would make it into 6.0 if it were fixed? The whole
thing's baffling to me, but I might try a little harder to fix it if it
would help.

I think it should be fixed in 6.0, but I haven't worked out the problem
yet. I think I'll give it another try tomorrow.
