I notice that gdb 7.8 is available as gz and xz tarballs. How are you
building these? src-release seems to only support gz and bz2 at the
moment.

I use src-release to build the .tar file, but then my scripts take
over in creating the compressed archives.

Would adding support for xz to src-release be something people would
be interested in? I use src-release (slightly modified) for building
tarballs for Linaro releases and xz support is still on my todo list.
