I've seen these tests fail when switching from gcc-4.2.1 to
gcc-4.3.1, due to a bug in gcc (macro definitions had bogus line
numbers).
Perhaps your 'gcc' is similarly broken?
What does 'readelf -w a.out | grep DW_MACINFO_start_file' say?
