Confirmed, using:
...
$ make -k check "RUNTESTFLAGS='CC_FOR_TARGET=/bin/sh
$pwd/gdb/contrib/cc-with-tweaks.sh -i gcc' 'CXX_FOR_TARGET=/bin/sh
$pwd/gdb/contrib/cc-with-tweaks.sh -i g++' gdb.base/index-cache.exp"
...
I can reproduce the bug.
