You isolated this patch as the source of the problem, but I don't see
that with my testing. My investigation leads me to believe that the
problem might been there for some time. Not sure of all the details,
yet.  But a little bit of help determining when this stopped working
for you would be helpful. When did this work last for you? (a SHA1
would be convenient, but a date is equally ok).
