This change converts the target modules targets in Makefile.tpl to my
preferred style. This shortens Makefile.tpl while lengthening Makefile.in.
It should also make 'make' invocations faster, although it may not be a
significant difference.
The main point is the replacement of $${dir}, computed at make time,
with [+module+], computed at autogen time.
This is the second version, and no longer breaks libstdc++-v3 and
libjava. There are case statements on $dir inside the definition
of CXX_FOR_TARGET, so I still have to set $dir. After doing this, I'm going
to be able to remove this complication and possibly the whole
CXX_FOR_TARGET_FOR_RECURSIVE_MAKE business, but it deserves its own patch.
I intend to perform a similar conversion with the host modules targets and
the build module targets, but there are a few additional issues which need
to be worked out first.
After these conversions, I can set up host modules to configure in the
Makefile, following which actual autoconfiscation can take place. There are
also additional shortenings to the embedded shell code in the Makefile which
can't be made yet, but will be able to be made soon.
If approved, this goes in gcc 3.4 bib, and will hit src when that branch hits
mainline gcc (sometime soon after gcc 3.3 branches).
Constructed to apply after "Autogenerate Makefile targets 1 (do-*)" patch.
Tested by bootstrapping successfully on i686-pc-linux-gnu.
