doc/developer contains a lot of architecture-level description of lttv,
some of which did not follow with code refactoring.

The documents I'm actively keeping up to date are:
/doc/developer/lttng-lttv-compatibility.txt
/LTTngManual.html
For the rest, it's a per-file investigation.
