It will also have a different PID than bash. bash (pid 2333 here) will be its parent. (PPID column) Use ps aux To see a list of all your system's processes. The snapshot you show here does not seem to include the time window that contains you cpptest program. Doing a zoom out would probably help finding it. Or using the filter to filter by process name (the filter looks like a "and" door).
