I downloaded the newest stable release and the latest CVS, but gdb would
never actually be built.  Make doesn't fail, but apparently it isn't being
configured to actually make gdb.  I've included a link to a log of  
./configure &&
gmake:  http://csurs2.csr.uky.edu/~brandon/gdb_make.log
