I get the same result if I only do
./configure --target=arm-linux-gnueabihf
It always faults at
/usr/bin/ld: libsim.a(arminit.o): Relocations in generic ELF (EM: 40)
libsim.a: error adding symbols: File in wrong format
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [run] Error 1
