I'm not super sure, but it looks like something may be wrong with your
Python install?

On my system (Fedora 12) I see:

rpm -ql python | grep site
/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages
/usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages
/usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/README
/usr/lib64/python2.6/site.py
/usr/lib64/python2.6/site.pyc
/usr/lib64/python2.6/site.pyo

Reading around, if you have a custom installation of Python (i.e. build
from source) you may need to set the PYTHONPATH variable. I'm very
much not an expert in Python packaging, though.

Cheers,

Phil
