Update on this issue.
I run "cvs up" in src/gdb/, there is no error but version.in does not
get updated:
$ cvs -q up -A
$ cat version.in
6.8.50.20090604-cvs
I did a fresh checkout of gdb, I saw the "head attribute" error again.
