This is the wrong list for Insight-specific questions. In any case
the answer will be no. GDB and Insight form part of the same program
when you build Insight; they must come from the same version of
sources.

No. MontaVista has patches to GDB and gdbserver. You need to either
use their version of both or FSF versions of both.
