Subject: speeding up the build

Hello,
Is it possible to make the gdb build process skip the making of libgdb.a and
just link it all in one step? I have a feeling that this would speed up the
build some and it seems like an unnecessary step if you're not going to use
libgdb.a anyway.
cheers,
Kris
