We realize the last week might have been frustrating because of the massive AI scraperbot attacks. Thanks to Frank Eigler's work on the nginx limiter, Xe Iaso of Anubis fame and advise from our Red Hat Fedora infrastructure friends we have been able to catch 90% of the AI scraperbot traffic early at connection time. This means you shouldn't be seeing those 429's (Too Many Requests) reports anymore, even if you aren't "authenticated". We will keep the anti-AI-scraperbot setup in place (and improve it with separate limiter pools), including the "authentication framework" (use git over ssh, login to bugzilla, join #overseers on irc.libera.chat, etc.) to avoid the limiter.
