NetBSD/i386 doesn't provide a way for software to use the x86-series
hardware debug registers, so gdb doesn't use them there. 
(I had a look at this once, and didn't get very far; it's just as well
for me, because my problem turned out to be garbage core dumps rather
than garbage meory).
