FWIW -- in libjava we did this for a while, inheriting the old Cygnus tradition. But, it was just more work for no good reason. So, we just renamed the testsuite ChangeLog to ChangeLog.old and moved on. I'd like to propose changing this for gdb. I don't think merging is even needed. Folks can always look in subdir ChangeLog.old... Tom
