There isn't any guideline, I just figured that alloc/release was no
longer correct, since we were no longer allocating or releasing dynamic
memory... This was before I realized how far I could take the
C++ification and make them into proper constructors.
I can undo the change if you'd like, but since they are going to become
the constructor I feel like it is not really necessary either way...
