This problem appears when the following macro is configured in
gdb/interior.h to be:
#define STARTUP_WITH_SHELL 0
#define START_INFERIOR_TRAPS_EXPECTED 1
The reason I set these macros is because forking a shell ends up
resenting some of the state when .cshrc is parsed (env vars like
$PATH, etc.). Thanks,
