GDB 18.1 release update -- 2026-08-24

Hi everyone,

Quick update on the 18.1 release.  Due to scheduling conflicts the
proposed release date has now moved to:

    Fri Sep 11 2026

Here is a quick recap of the changes since the last update:

Fixed Since the Previous Update:

 * gdb/33205 - [gdb/testsuite, meta] Minimum supported tcl version

   This issue has been closed and new tickets opened for the remaining
   work.  None of the remaining work is blocking the 18.1 release.

 * Broken Solaris Build

   This fix was merged into gdb-18-branch in commit 72572ab0996.

 * gdb/33447 - Can't find class methods on clang compiled libraries

   A patch was posted for this here:
