It is nicer Doug> ... FWIW the reason I haven't prepped & submitted the patches for this is that we decided that plain "runtest" would not use the same directory layout as parallel mode. So, the Makefiles are still needed for cleanup in this mode. If nobody cares about that -- I certainly don't, I never use "make clean" in the test suite -- then I'm happy to go ahead. Tom
