It compiles and links okay, thanks. Do you want me to test some
feature(s) to make sure the resulting binary works as expected?

Thanks, it does help. I don't have the autotools installed here at
all, because I use them only very seldom. If I need to run them, I
usually do so on one of the gnu.org machines where I have a login
account. So having the patches for the configure script and config.in
does make the job easier.
