Oh, as always, 30 seconds after spending an hr on a reply, I remember:
int select(int nfds, fd_set *readfds, fd_set *writefds, fd_set
*exceptfds, struct timeval *timeout);
with more than two parameters and the ordering:
- object
- read param
- write param
