The Single Unix Specification has a page about "test":
http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/7908799/xcu/test.html
If our scripts conform to this, they'll have a better chance of running
on more systems in the future. And if they don't run, we can point
fingers at the vendor more effectively.
The page also has a long section on how to write portable "test"
expressions, probably because lots of people have gotten burned in
the past.
