Appears to have passed on two rebuilds I started yesterday. Sadly it’s
also not anything I’ve seen on my local machines (same OS and GCC version,
different hardware)

GCC should be stderring a backtrace on ICE.
Have you _ever_ seen ICE backtraces on other targets in buildbot?

I’m wondering if:
1) buildbot is not capturing stderr?
2) make is swallowing stderr?
3) the ICE backtrace is disabled on the distro gcc?
4) it’s a system wide error? (OOM?)

I’ll keep investigating - run some builds manually on the slave.
