Hi!
Sorry for the late reply, I had to read up on autotools before I could hack on the GDB build system.
This is only the first few patches of the series, I'm still working on the later parts.
As asked, I've added some documentation. I've tried to separate out the documentation into a high-level overview (in gdb.texinfo) and the more intricate details (in the new header file itself).
